Welcome to Mountain To Sea Newfoundlands

CH Mtn-To-Sea's Southpaw BearOnPkwy - Call Name: "Lefty"

CH Mtn-To-Sea's Southpaw BearOnPkwy (CH Cypress Bay’s Imat Cornerbrook x CH Tippecanoe’s Mt To Sea Mia) When ten weeks old, Lefty, the puppy with the “red collar”, left the mountains and joined his new family, Barry and Rosemary Baker of Kernersville, NC a wonderful thing happened in the process-A great friendship emerged. A simple conversation of Lefty having show potential, and if the Bakers were interested, we could talk again when Lefty was six months about showing turned into sharing of meals, each others homes along with lots of laughter, AND with winning some ribbons!

At the center is Lefty, Mia’s son, a handsome boy with personality plus. Lefty loves to show, with one of his majors behind him from the nine to twelve month puppy class going Best of Winners for a three point major at the Asheville Kennel Club in June of 2006. It just happened to be Barry and Rosemary’s wedding anniversary, and he gave us all a thrill with this great win. More recently at Greensboro, North Carolina shows, November 2006 he went Winners Dog and Best of Winners for 3 more points with Barry as handler! Lefty continued his winning at the Concord, NC show by getting his second major from the 12-18 month class. Lefty finished his championship at the Charleston Kennel Club show in January of 2007. Lefty enjoys the whole Confirmation Show process from grooming and travels to showing his stuff in the ring. Lefty is a BIG boy, with a massive head, nice bone, and great movement.

At the South Eastern Newfoundland Club’s Fall Festival 2006, Barry and Lefty earned his first title, and letters to go on his name by completing the Canine Good Citizen Test Requirements. Currently, Lefty is taking classes for Rally Obedience Competition, working on commands for Water Dog Competition for 2007, while still showing in Confirmation. In the coming years we plan on concentrating on obedience and water work. Barry recently obtained a cart and harness as well--- Could be a Versatile Newfoundland in the making!
